Last week, I was going through a box of old books from my parents' book shelves and came across Dale Carnegie's "How To Win Friends & Influence People." It was a book that I remember seeing as a teenager at my parent's house back in Illinois, but never read. I'm not sure where they got it, but I decided to read it for a new documentary series I am doing research for.
It was a book on human relations. Something that every persons should read when it comes to dealing with the human experience. I wonder what kind of affect it would have on the world if it were mandatory reading before graduating from high school or even college. Or maybe this book could be the manual for social networking or adapted to the digital human relations online. In any case, it is a book that should be on the book shelves, smartphone app or computers of anyone looking to succeed. Offline or online we are here for one another. I think Dale Carnegie's book shows us how to reconnect and work with one another, especially in these times of the digital era.
