Hey Creative Moguls.
Today, I finally took action on a little project to showcase small businesses - specifically restaurants in Las Vegas.
This is a review video I created with final cut and an animation software.
After spending years producing local videos for yellowpages.com, dex.com and yelp.com - I think the standard online commercial is becoming less effective in advertising. It's overdone to the point that business owners want something different.
I still think all businesses should create the standard online commercial (talks about the who, what, where and why) -but if they want to bring their online video marketing to the next level they have to start creating more then one video.
I strategy is to start putting those testimonials on video either text-based like the sample test video about or real life on-camera testimonials from their customers.
This month I will be approaching a few local businesses to create the one off videos like the one above - along with casting a few businesses on serial content or short form reality tv content for online consumption.
I want to play with the idea of developing tv programs for the online local market. I am curious to see if I can create shows around local business as an on-going series. Creating ways to monetize it on a local level and targeting an audience on Facebook, instagram, youtube or snapchat.
I could get paid programming on television, but why? Cable television is losing to smartphones.
Let try to create content that gives value and entertaining / informational.
I think this will be a way for me to create an ecommerce model - except I will be able to monetize my creativity.
I will either sell ad space within the videos , rent the videos to small businesses or sell the rights to use - while building a brand.
That will be the goal of this project.
