Just launched a new blog today called Otaku Nation.
Otaku Nation will not only focus on anime and japanese pop culture -
it will also aggregate comics, movies, nerdy geek and geek
chic content on the net.
I started my first weblog site, in 2003, called cartoonmogul.com - indieanimator.com .
Little did I know, this simple webpage of animation website links would
generate a substantial amount of web traffic. It was a private personal
site that I never promoted and only shared with a friend or two. The website attracted
a community of visitors that enjoyed watching online animation
as much as me.
With all the data and experience I acquired running that online site
and a few other blogs, I have decided to run this new site a little
different. Not following traditional strategies, but focus on all the
methods that worked for cartoonmogul.com and a few other blogs.
And within the community, teach Otakus who want to monetize what
they are most passionate about into an online business. The timing is
right, fandom is in a different place than it was in late 90s and early 2000.
The World Wide Web as I knew it has matured and how we use is a
a tool may have changed, but human behavior is still the same.
Otakus have a passion to collect toys and merchandise, they spend
a substantial amount of their hard earned cash at anime/comic
conventions and comic stores. Many Otakus struggle to balance a
9-to-5 existence with living the dream of an Otaku lifestyle full-time.
I created a test group or team culture called Otakupreneurs, with a
mission, to help Otakus live the life they envisioned a blend of Otaku
work + lifestyle or Otakupreneur lifestyle. It will afford them to build an
Otaku style online business.
After 11 years of testing and building new media content and sites
online, I have discovered a way to make this Otakupreneur lifestyle
possible. I plugged into many trainings, internet marketing systems
and strategies - studying what works and what didn’t work.
In the next 3 months, my team and I will test market this method with a
few team members build an Otaku Driven Online Business using a
variety of systems, products and training to create and achieve the
